Weightless (Winged Wolf RP - Accepting)

The sky was dark with smoke, making everything a hazy gray color, as chaos ensued. Down below on the ground of the forest floor, panicked wolves ran tried to escape the deadly forest fire as it ripped across the trees, each of them crashing one after another as the flames took over them. Many limp bodies lied splayed across the ground, oblivious to most wolves around them as they tried to escape. Oblivious to most, except for one.

A small pup, about three moons old, struggled to stay on all four legs, coughing repeatedly, smoke persistent in her lungs. It was a female, her coat blackish gray from all the soot and ash in the surrounding area. The pup's eyes were a deep amber brown, which were glassy, hazed over in gray like the sky. On her back, was a set of small black wings, which when she unfolded them, they flopped uselessly at her sides. If any pup had been left unattended during this fire, it would have surely been killed, but throughout all the wolves fleeing their ruined home, the she-wolf had been able to stay alive, and was now making a slow and painful process towards the fallen bodies of wolves a few feet away.

The small wolf was unsure if she could make it, and her mind was constantly blacking out for a moment, leaving her lost, and then her vision would come back in. Her packmate's terrified yelps and howls sounded like static to her ears. Her whole world heaving, the pup gave a final effort and lunged forward, thudding against a fallen wolf's side. Painfully picking her head up, the pup stared through wavering vision at the face of the wolf before her. "Mom?" she whimpered quietly, digging her nose into the cold fur of the wolf. "Mom!" she yelped, nosing the cold bulk again. She couldn't be dead, she just couldn't! Suddenly the pup slightly slumped to the ground, blacking out again, but she opened her eyes, which were tired and filled with tears. "I want all the killing to stop... No more blood, no more death..." she muttered to herself quietly, letting the darkness which had been constantly trying to grab her, take over her body. Her breathing slowed, and soon, she was motionless. In the darkness, she just couldn't notice that she felt absolutely weightless.

Weightless

It has been many moons since the she-wolf's pack was attacked. The fire was all but a forgotten memory, for most, but a few. Few in number, those who had been able to flee to safety will remember that day to the end. That exact place where the fire had happened, was named "Flaming Oak Point" after how all the trees, preferable oak, had brought the misfortune on the pack which lived there. Now, all that remains is a shell of what used to be... scorched, dead trees in a circle, standing around where the pack had been killed.

Out of the remaining wolves, they were lead by the fallen Alpha's one and only offspring, their daughter. Seeking better homes, the small remainder of the pack flew to a much safer forest. They settled down in a large clearing, and staked out their territory, naming themselves the Amethyst Pack. Along with their pack, another pack lived, their territory brushing right up against the border of the destroyed pack's home. Even though both were relatively enemies, they both shared one large enemy. Diamond Astaroth

Diamond Astaroth was the Alpha of the pack who lived in the bleak mountains, far in the distance of the two pack's homes. Having a natural heart for greed and evil, he lives with only his own hand-picked assassins and killers. He named his pack The Dragon Wolf Pack, seeing that he still thought that dragons were real, and some day he would be able to summon them and put them to his power. Little did he know, that sometimes you never got what you wanted. An important rank in his pack, is a demon. There are rare occasions when Diamond Astaroth would stumble across a demonic wolf, it's eyes red with anger. This demon wolf has two powers, making them the most deadly of all wolves. These demon wolves are near Diamond Astaroth all the time, ready for any orders. If you weren't tough, then you wouldn't be able to survive in Diamond Astaroth's pack for one day. His way of seeing if you are worthy of his pack, is to see if you make it. If you die, no one really cares. It's just a live or die situation, where you only get one strike. This evil wolflord is basically immortal, very old, but is as strong and young-looking as ever. He will not rest, until all territories lay under his claw and rule.

The only hope to live a peaceful life for all of the packs, is for them to unite. But how is that possible, when every wolf pack knows that they don't mix, and they've been enemies for a long time. That is up to the packs, to find out.

- The Amethyst Pack's Territory -
Over 100 acres of land, the Amethyst Pack has tons of space to hunt. The territory is covered with mostly trees, with the occasional clearing or two. The Amethyst Pack members are adapt to hunting under the cover of treetops, and can blend into the vegetation easily.

- Flaming Oak Point -
The place where Amethyst's old camp used to be, Flaming Oak Point is a place where rumors flutter around. Many wolves say that the destroyed camp is haunted by the spirits of the wolves that were killed in the fire. Some say that they've seen shapes and figures in the scorched premises of the Flaming Oak Point, and many say that they've heard strange noises coming from that area too. It is around a mile from the Amethyst's main camp, and pups always use going into that place as a dare.

- The Rainbow Pack's Camp -
Not liking trees, the Aspen Pack's camp is a small clearing in which a few trees surround, allowing some small protection. They do not sleep in caves or dens, more hardy of the two packs. They believe that dens are dangerous. If there was a danger at the front of the den, blocking the exit, there would be nowhere to go.

- The Rainbow Pack's Territory -
The other pack, rivaling the Amethyst lives in a wide, open valley and hills. Not that many trees are around the area, mostly bush and shrub. The wolves of the Aspen Pack are very fast and do not like trees when they hunt, for the trees obscure their view and they can't hunt well. They would rather sleep under the stars than in a cave or under the trees.

- The Waterfall -
This waterfall is used by both the Aspen Pack and the Amethyst Pack. Both knowing that they didn't have that much water source, both alphas agreed that they would share the waterfall, and no fighting go on there. The pool is half a mile wide, and half a mile long.

- The Dragon Pack's Camp -
Never really used to sleeping outside, the pack members came accustomed to their home, in which they found a network of long dark tunnels and caves inside. Only the members of the Dragon Pack know the tunnel, and have a mental map of the whole camp inside their mind. Their eyes have grown accustomed to the dark, and all of them have superb senses, and are mostly active at night. They are almost never seen during the daytime, when they sleep inside their dark caves. There are a few entrances, but every one of them are known by most pack members.

- The Dragon Pack's Territory -
Since they live in the mountains, the Dragon Pack's occupants are very skillful at climbing and jumping from rock to rock, and are very nimble on slanted surfaces. They love nothing better but having a chase after a goat or mountain lion.

- The Dragon Pack's Territory in Winter -
Winter in the mountains is very cold. Having to deal with this every single year, the Dragon Pack members have slowly adapted and have grown used to the cold, and in the winter, grow a very thick and warm fur. The ice and snow doesn't make any difference, for the Dragon Pack's wolves have very long and sharp claws, allowing them to grip the ice easily, not slipping off.

Personality: Fallen Ashes is a good leader, strong willed and strong hearted. But sometimes, she prefers to be alone. She is very strategic and good at thinking things through, and doesn't charge recklessly into battle just on impulse. And since that is true, then most of the members of the Amethyst Pack doubt that they'll ever have an Alpha Male. Her eyes are always filled with blood lust, and she is a brilliant hunter and killer. She is very good at making herself not be seen, and is silent. Fallen Ashes padded out of her small den and into the clearing of the Amethyst Pack's camp. She breathed in deeply, fanning out her wings, getting rid of any bits of dirt that had caught in them overnight, and then brought them back in. As she quickly glanced around the camp, she noticed that no one was really up. This wasn't uncommon, for Ash was usually an early riser, who liked to go hunting early, when the prey wasn't expecting it. With a running start, the alpha jumped into the air and quickly opened her gray and black wings, quickly evening out. Ash closed her eyes against the wind, happy to feel air against her face again.

From high above, Ash stared down below, for the familiar loping figure of a deer, or an elk, or the figure of a rabbit. It wasn't long before she was approaching the all too familiar line of scorched trees in the distance, and she grimaced, pausing in mid flight. That place brings back too much memories... Ash warned herself, but part of her wanted to go, and see if there was anything new there. The first thought tried to warn further, but her curiosity overcame that part, and she started to fly forwards again towards the landmark of Flaming Oak Point.

As soon as Fallen Ashes touched down onto the charred ground, covered in ashes, her mind was alert with caution. Memories of the past raced through her mind, and she fought to shake them away and focus on exploring. It was usually like this. She had two parts in her mind, that battled against each other to go to where she used to live, but it was usually the more curious side that won. As she shook off the memories of the past, Fallen Ashes let her paws take her wherever they wanted, for usually her mind knew where to go. As she wandered through the ruins of her old camp, the alpha frowned and sighed, some of the memories lingering. Ash, just... forget the memories right now. They won't help. Pay no attention to them. She thought to herself, and tried to obey. It wasn't that easy, but it still worked at some degree.

She soon found herself at a cluster of small dens, and she stared at them for a long time, trying to remember what these were. Something was telling her she knew about it, but it wouldn't say. Finally, she stopped staring at the den, not wanting to try anymore. Some things should stay a mystery, and this was one of those things. The sound of some skittering alerted Ash, and she froze in the spot, her ears riveted upwards, her eyes looking around quickly. She stood there for a moment until she suddenly saw the brown hide of a deer. Thanking no one in particular, Ash crept up onto the deer, which was too occupied in eating, and lunged, scraping her claws down the flanks. The deer bolted, but Ash was faster, spinning around in front of the deer and lunging at the deer's throat, head on. The deer made a gurgling sound and then fell to the ground, almost crushing Fallen Ashes, who bolted out of the way just in time.

Licking her paw, Ash made a face and then spat, tasting blood and ash mixed together. Then she turned her attention back to the limp deer, who was lying on the ground limply. It would he hard to bring it back to the camp, but she had to do it, so Ash started to drag the deer, and then, finding it was too slow, took painfully off into the air, the deer hanging from her teeth.


Far away from where Ash was hunting, way over in the mountains, was a whole different world. Dark and dank tunnels ran for miles throughout the mountains, dark shapes running through them, their eyes gleaming. Huge caves branched off of these tunnels, as large as cathedrals. For this, is the Dragon Wolf Pack's home. Well, not a home, but a refuge. A refuge from light, a refuge from others. As different wolves, both demon and normal, walked down the tunnels, with a map of them burned into their mind, a wolf, that looked much more different than the others, hurried down the tunnels. Each wolf, suddenly noticing the she-wolf, backed away, pressing against the tunnel walls to make way for her. Everyone knew that you should never stand in a demon wolf's way, especially the assassins.

As the she-wolf ran down the tunnel, she quickly glanced backwards to see if anyone was following, which no one was. Then she took a sharp turn, down a small narrow tunnel, not that many caves at all, and then soon the dark tunnel opened up to a huge cavern, ten times the size of the normal caverns. Glancing around, the she-wolf noticed a cave clawed into the wall, and made her way skillfully up, opening her deep magenta wings, and landed on the ledge outside. "Astaroth." she spoke through with her mind, having the ability to manipulate them. Her voice sounded melodious like a flute, yet that was what helped lure others into their sense of calm. And also, it was safer, because anyone could be listening. A dark form in the corner seemed to move, but no reply came. The demon she-wolf, taking that as a gesture to continue, did so.

"The River Pack has fallen, the alphas killed. No one escaped alive." she went on, and the form in the shadows seemed to shift in surprise, then, like a snake's hiss, came the reply. "Aspen... Thank you for that information. You shall go back to the other demon wolves now, and wait for my next order." The she-wolf dipped her head and nodded, turning silently to fly out of the cave and then to the entrance, gliding the whole way. Then with that, she disappeared into the shadows.


After Aspen had left, the dark wolf stood up, shaking himself off. His eyes were a glowing red, and he seemed to be made of darkness himself. "So... They have fallen have they? This leads me one more step closer to finishing off your pack Fallen Ashes." he spat out the name with distaste. "And Snow." he added, remembering the Rainbow Pack was also threatening his plans. "Then we shall see who is the ruler. Maybe I'll keep you two alive as servants. Yes, that'd be nice." he growled to himself and then went back to sleep.

Snow slightly giggled at Forest's uncertainy(sp?). "Hi." she said, and yawned. "What's the rush? The sun has just barely come up!"

History: Cloe was born and grew up at The Amethyst Pack. She was the only daughter. Both her parents were healers so she grew up hearing their stories about the wounded and how they healed them. Her mother died drowning in a river while trying to get water for the wounded. No one knows how she died, some say that it was an accident and she fell in the water, but Cloe didn't believe it since her mother could swim very well. Her father disappeared in the forest, chasing a young wolf warrior that was traumatized after a battle with a demon. Some scouts tried to get him but after the whole afternoon trying to find him, they returned and said that her father and the warrior was no where to be found and it was almost night so the scouts couldn't stay in the forest at night. Since then, Cloe took the place of her parents as a healer.

Powers: become a shadow and he produces through his drool a very powerful and lethal blue poison that kills anything, even plants and earth and he also has a 'mind blocking'. However, if he uses the mind block for more then 30 minutes, he may get pretty dizzy and even faint. He always use when he wants to think privatly.

Akuma blinked open his eyes, looking up at the trees. He suddenly noticed that he was laying on his back, his black and white belly completely exposed. He quickly scrabbled to roll over. Once again, he stared up at the soft clouds in the sky. If only I knew how to fly high, he thought, his claws digging into the earth, Since my wings aren't strong enough yet.. He let out a howl of frustration. "Why are my wings so weak?!?", he yowled, "Why aren't I normal!" He then realised how loud he must be. I just hope that no one heard. The last thing I need is to pick a fight while I'm angry.

A black snake slithered towards the loud cry. "What wassss that about?" she hissed at Akuma. "You're normal in the eyessss of me. Verry normal. You... You are a demon wolf, now are you? Well, ssssso am I." she hissed then switched into her young adult wolf form.

Akuma blinked, unaccustomed from hearing another wolf's voice. "It's just..", he sighed, "My not smart wings aren't ready for flying yet." He let out a pout as he slumped to the ground.

After a long day of helping the wounded, Cloe thought that a rest would be nice. She went to a nearby tree and rested in the shadow. She was really tired and maybe a nap would make her feel better.

After an assassination, Claymore went flying over by the mountains and decided to go to the Amethyst Pack territory hidden because there was a clean crystal river where he could rest. In his shadow form, he flew close to another wolves but they didn't notice Claymore there. When he got close enough in the river, he sniffed the air. I know this smell... he thought. He followed the smell in the shadow form, and from a distance, he saw a young white she-wolf with black wings sleeping behind an oak tree. Claymore already knew who she was, but he never got a chance to talk to her since both were from different packs.
Claymore have been observing that young winged wolf for almost a week, because she reminds him someone but he does not remember who. Maybe a diseased lover? A childhood best friend? But how he does not remember? It was very confusing. Maybe he hit his head and forgot something about his past? Thousands of questions remained in his head without an answer. Talking to her wouldn't be a good idea since he's a demon wolf... He thought it would be a good idea asking the elder wolf from his pack, but he may find out that Claymore had a crush on a member of the enemy pack, so Claymore remained silent.

Akuma sighed. Might as well see who's around. He let out a loud howl, one that was obviously from a unexperienced wolf. It was scratchy and untuned, even though it was partly Akuma's fault. Who ever heard of a wolf that's voice sounded like a dying boar...

Cloe woke up with the strange howl. Not only that, she heard some leaves moving very next to her, when she looked, there was no one there but she could swear that someone... Or something was watching her very close. She decided to ignore and fly away and see where that strange howl was coming from.

Two minutes before the howl, Claymore lay down without his shadow coat on and watched the white wolf sleeping. When he heard the howl and noticed that the she-wolf would wake up, in a quick movement, he used the shadow coat and ran away but she would obviously notice the shadow and the leaves moving.
Claymore flew away before she may even follow. He saw at the distance that she was flying too but not following him. Instead, she was flying where the howl was coming from.

Akuma let out another hideous howl, but not as bad as before. Well, he thought,At least it didn't sound as appalling as before.... He suddenly was aware of the beating of wings. His ears pricked, trying to find what direction the beating was coming from.

Cloe flew following the howl. It must be a loner... she thought. She saw a strange winged wolf with half his body black and the other half white. She landed, not very far but not very close to the wolf as well, thinking that it may be a trap. "Hello there" Cloe smiled, acting as a friendly wolf.

Claymore thought that the alpha might be needing him so he flew away, returning to the Dragon's Pack territory, but he did not like the sound of that howl... Could that she-wolf be in danger? he thought, looking at his back, I better stop worrying... She is indeed a grown up wolf so she can handle herself... but he was still thinking that it would be a better idea return and, at least, see from whom that howl came from... It must have been from another demon wolf.

Akuma let out a slight whimper, afraid that this wolf was going to trick him or hurt him. He started to slowly back up, tripping on a large rock. He scrabbled to get his grip, landing sloppily on his back, Akuma's wings spread apart. Wonderful..., he thought, growling.

As Aspen walked down the halls, her ears pinned back against her head in annoyance. Some wolf pack outside was howling their head off, or a few wolves were howling. Sound traveled easily because of the echoes down the tunnels, so it was usual for any of the Dragon Wolf Pack members to hear other wolves. She frowned when she entered the demon wolf cave, for no one was there. "Sister." she sent out, trying to locate Night Fang. Where was she? Suddenly Diamond Astaroth's voice rang into her head. "Aspen, don't forget. I need you to do some spying on the Amethyst and Rainbow pack." Aspen smiled and answered, saying yes, her eyes glittering. Finding Night Fang now forgotten, Aspen raced down the tunnels, and after around 5 minutes, she burst out of an opening, blinking hard a few times against the light. As she jumped out, she flung out her wings and flapped them up and down silently, the sound muted like an owl's flight. She gained level, and then glided, honing in on the nearest camp site. The Rainbow Pack

She went down to land and then right before her paws touched the ground, she shape shifted into the most innocent looking pup. With that, she headed towards the Rainbow Pack Camp.

Akuma scrabbled back onto all fours, his eyes narrowed. "So.", he spoke, "You don't look like a demon wolf, and you obviously aren't a loner, so, what pack are you in?"

He looks like a demon wolf... Cloe though I should be really careful...
"Don't worry" Cloe said, trying to look the most friendly wolf ever "I'm not gonna hurt you... I'm from the pack that lives very close to this territory, I heard your howl and I thought you might be injured because I'm a healer, so if you are looking for medicine, you may come to me" she smiled and closed her wings so that it wouldn't appear as if she would attack the strange wolf.

Night Fang shifted into a snake before the she-wolf could notice her. She slithered behind the other demon wolf. "I am from Amythest Pack." she mind controlled Cloe to say. She knew that was the truth. She waited for Cloe to respond to what she had said.

Snow sniffed the air and bounded up to Forest. "Hide in your den." She whisper-barked. I smell Dragon Wolf Pack.
