Forever Surviving

Charna yawned, her breath turning misty in the cold air. She slapped her tail againest the side of her den and drifted into sleep.

Midnight: "There's a human here." I said, backing away. "Humans hunt us, right?" I ran behind the older male dragon. "I don't want to be killed!"

(( older dragon? you mean The Watcher? ))

((No, Ryoku, he's older than her.))

(( ah, okay ))

"Hi!" said Compass smiling and waving at the dragons.

Midnight: I peeked my head over Ryoku's shoulder. I screeched, and flew to the top of a nearby tree.

"Uhhh... Don't need to be afraid! I'm Compass! What's your name?" asked the young human girl looking at the dark dragon.

Midnight. "Midnight." I said, still at the top of the tree.

"Pleased to meet you, Midnight!" said Compass smiling "Oooh... You have pretty scales! I've never seen a black dragon before! My dad said that black dragons are very interesting!"

"Thanks." said, flying down, next to Ryoku once more.

Ryoku lowered his head, "My name's Ryoku. Nice to meet you."

''so... whatcha guys doing?'' asked Compass curious.

Midnight: "Just chatting." I said, turning to the large gold dragon. "How old are you?" I asked.

''I'm 16!'' said Compass smiling ''Oh... You asked to Ryoku?'' the young human girl asked feeling confused.

Midnight: I quickly turned to face the girl, Compass. "Really? Me too! Most dragons are a lot older than us." I frowned. It wasn't fun when everyone's older than you.

Compass chuckled ''Really? I thought dragons of 16 years were still babies... And they are adults when they reach, I think, 200 years or so...'' she said ''My dad teach me a lot about dragons! And he is 2000 years old, no joke!''.

"Well... people consider us babies since we're so young. But- wait, your dad is 2000? Do humans LIVE that long?"

Charnette awoke, startled. She peeked out of the cave curiously, overhearing the conversation. Her eyes narrowed and she took off, flying over to a distant hill.

"I'm 26 years.", Ryoku shrugged, "But I don't really keep track."

Charna landed with a thud. She looked down at the others and walked down the mountain. [I'll make another dragon soon.]
