"Kou." She answered simply. The light brown wolf smiled weakly down at the pup. "What's your name?"

"Gifuto (Gif-ooh-to).", I replied, my voice quiet.

Gifuto. Gifuto's a good name for such a good puppy." She replied happily.

"Thanks... but where's momma?", I asked, opening my honey-colored eyes.

Kou shook her head. "I didn't see your Mother." She replied.

"She's coming back, right?", he asked.

"Well, I'm not sure. But I'll take care of you. My name is Shilana."

Kou looked up at the Alphess. "Take good care of him." SHe whispered, pading back into her own den.

"Shilana...", I recited, in awe of the name, "Awesome name!"

Kashikoi padded next to Shilana.

Kou sat down in her den.

Tadeo paced the camp restlessly.

"Imma go follow Kou.", I told the two wolves before dashing off.

Kou stared outside, hearing footsteps. SHe got to her feet and peeked out of her den.

"Kou!", I ran up to her, nuzzling the she-wolf. "I'm cold!"

Kou smiled down at the pup. She licked it's head. She wrapped her tail around the pup and laid down.

"You're warm, like momma!", I remembered momma's warm breath on my fur, and I wagged my tail in happiness and closed my eyes.

Kou nodded. "Go to sleep, little pup." She whispered.

Shilana: I looked up at Kashikoi, my smiling expression soft.

Kashikoi grinned, "What?"

Shilana: "Hm? ...Oh. Nothing."

Kou sighed and picked the pup up. She placed him(Her?) on a pile of soft leaves and looked through her herbs.
